Tip of the Month: Getting Autographs
Collecting autographs can be a fun hobby for young people.
Many Broadway performers in New York and on national tour love being asked to sign playbills, ticket stubs, or photos.
The best way to get autographs is to wait by the stage door after the show. If you don’t know where the stage door is, ask an usher or a representative in the theatre lobby.
When you greet a performer, be polite and respectful—remember, he or she has finished work and may be looking forward to heading home or off to dinner.
Encourage your kids to keep their autographs in an album, noting the date, show name, and performer name for each one. |
"I am always expected to have a special treat
for my grandchildren when they come to visit.
On their last visit, I surprised them with tickets to a Broadway show. It was a visit they will never forget!”
